Happy Gut, Happy Life

Probiotics that exceed in their job and rock the realm of the Mighty Gut
February 29, 2024

There is a world of options when it comes to probiotic brands. Which can be trusted and which will ultimately make our “second brain” smile😊?

With the help of my trusty naturopath, I’ve piled together a list and dramatically abbreviated description of the best of the probiotic best. I imagine that if Magritte had taken any one of these, so would he have painted an ode to such supreme probiotic capsules.

– A cutting-edge probiotic supporting the Brain-Gut Axis.
– Evidence-based strains aiding the gut-brain connection.
– Addresses gut dysbiosis linked to psychological conditions.

Personal suggestions of HOW TO:

Intuit which brand may work for you and try for at least a month. As per when to take, every person’s body is different, so naturally, diet and supplementation regimens should always be tailored (and intuited) accordingly. Try, for at least a week or two, taking 2 capsules before bedtime and see how effective that is. If you don’t reach regularity, then try taking just 2 capsules in the morning on an empty stomach. Again, if after two weeks this proves ineffective, then see how 2 capsules in the morning and 2 at night works. One brand may not work as well as the next, so test one then another, giving each enough time to evaluate. DO NOT GET DISCOURAGED. Bowel regulation can be a doozie. Switching brands may mean irregularity for a while. The actual time it takes for a new probiotic to work can range anywhere from a couple of days to a few months, so they say. What has worked for me is taking two in the morning, along with 3 capsules of psyllium (Solgar Psyllium Husk Fiber 500g). And when possible, I try to get enough roughage in my diet, especially in the last meal of the day😉.

[Also, for constipation issues, Himalaya’s Comfort Cleanse works wonders (2 capsules at night). Teas with Senna, such as Traditional Medicine’s Smooth Move tea, are NOT recommended, however, as Senna can be quite aggressive on the gut.]
